Since the festivities are just about 2 blocks away we're doing a seafood special as well. The big seller at the fest tends to be Alder Smoked Salmon, which is wonderful and aromatic, Austin Cantina will be offering Tortilla Chip Crusted Catfish with corn-fritters (hush puppies) and roasted corn salsa.
I hope that people come in, but there is a lot of competition from the Capitol Hill Block Party as well as Seafood Fest.
I've been watching a bunch of food television on Tivo lately, Hells Kitchen, Next Food Network Star, Top Chef, I'm not really very interested in the Iron Chef stuff, but I love Anthony Bordain, almost as much as I loathe Emeril. I wonder how much interest there is, does anyone care what I think of those shows?
In my experience, lots of folks don't watch TV about their own industry because it is never represented in a realistic way. Cops don't watch cop-shows, lawyers don't watch lawyer shows, doctors don't watch doctor shows, etc... But I have been fairly regular in some of these "unscripted dramas". Let me know if you're interested in reading more.
